Hello!!

Hi friends!! I thought the best way to get a new blog section started on my new website for my food and product photography is with an introduction blog post.

So hello and thanks for coming here!! I’m Ellysia Francovitch, a Boston food photographer and product photographer. I have been doing photography in the food related sphere for a long time now. Basically since I started my photography business 8 years ago (and a little bit before, I’ll show a fun throwback photo to when I was a photo intern).

I have captured so many areas of food photography and product photography. I did several photo internships and one of my first was at Improper Bostonian magazine. My first day there they had me run to Crate & Barrel and prop source a ton of picnic related items for a food photography shoot. That was what first got me into this kind of photography. Shortly after that I landed a full-time photography role at a jewelry company. This helped me to learn studio lighting, as I had studied photojournalism in college. Once I had really learned this I realized I wanted to start my own photography business and launched that in April 2015.

From here I worked with food delivery companies, freelance for The Grommet, and then started working with other clients such as a South African chef launching her brand in the states. I slowly and steadily gained clients who I loved working with to tell the story of their brand and their food or product. This is the foundation of what I love doing, I love hearing about different brands and how they want to present their business and story to the world. This helps me to capture the essence of who they are and show this to the world. So this is where I am today, working with amazing Boston food photography and product photography clients who have a great story to tell.
